Organization Description:

As home to UW's federally-funded Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), the Global Business Center also works in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education to contribute to the international competitiveness of American business by developing and supporting international business programs for students, faculty, and the business community. We are the only CIBER in the Pacific Northwest, and one of thirty-one CIBERs housed in universities throughout the United States. Our mission is to develop global business expertise by hosting and sponsoring outstanding international education initiatives. The Global Business Center manages GSEC, the leading-edge program at the Michael G. Foster School of Business that aims to alleviate global poverty through small enterprise.

The Global Business Center manages Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition (GSEC), the leading-edge program at the Michael G. Foster School of Business that aims to alleviate global poverty through small enterprise. GSEC is a business plan competition that invites students from around the world to find creative and commercially sustainable ways to reduce poverty through new business development.
