Organization Description:
IPHR is a unique consortium of university faculty, staff and students working to discover and apply new knowledge to improve humanitarian relief systems. They are working in concert with advisors from various government and non-governmental organizations to design and deliver state-of-the-art education, research and training in humanitarian relief.
Example Project:
The MLC Data Center is a collaborative GIS and Remote Sensing facility jointly maintained by the University of Washington, Interdisciplinary Program in Humanitarian Relief (IPHR) and the volunteer Northwest Response Team (NWR). NWR is a GIS and Remote Sensing volunteer organization comprised of geospatial professionals and students who engage information management technology for humanitarian relief and development.
