Barooti Beadwear is about women thinking positively, working one on one to create choice & independence in their lives. Buddhist women in Kathmandu handcraft glass bead jewelry, or Barootis, for Barooti Beadwear.

Example Project:

Under the principles of fair trade & self-empowerment each beading woman is paid directly for her work. Earnings from handcrafting the beadwear have provided the women with freedom to pursue independent lives. Many have created sustainable businesses including teachouses, shops & tailoring studios.
