Organization Description:
FIUTS Mission: At the intersection of the University of Washington and our community, FIUTS creates lifelong engagement through experiences that build global understanding. The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students (FIUTS) has been fostering goodwill and cross-cultural dialogue in the Puget Sound area for over half a century. As a nonprofit organization founded at the University of Washington in 1948, FIUTS creates a community of people who believe in the power of friendship to enrich lives and inspire peace through friendship.
Example Project:
FIUTS connects international students at the University of Washington with U.S. students, members of the local community, other community groups, and local senior citizens and children in K-12 classrooms. Programs include International Student Orientation programming, Week-long community homestays, Leadership Development and Intercultural Training, Education Outreach and Community Events and Activities.
